Resorts World Arena in the 90s
We're dedicating each day in the run up to our birthday to an iconic era of live events which we've hosted here in Birmingham. Yesterday we took a trip to the 80's (which was incredible) but today, it's all about crimped hair, jelly shoes and CD Walkmans as we step back to the 1990's!
Join us this week as we dedicate each day in the build up to our birthday to an iconic era of live events. From Queen in the 80’s to Elton to the 90’s, Beyoncé in the 00’s to Adele in the 10’s – we’re heading out on the ultimate trip down memory lane.
You can get involved too by sending us your photos and memories from the over the years via Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. C’mon, let’s get nostalgic!
Today we're talking all about the incredible 1990's, here's a few interesting things from this iconic decade.
We had HOW many events in the 1990's?!
We hosted a whopping SEVEN HUNDRED AND NINETY events from 1990 to the end of 1999 with some absolutely huge acts taking to the stage. Just look at that list!
Our top 90's performer is....
The one and only Cliff Richard who performed here in Birmingham 23 times!
Our first and our last...
The legendary Sir Paul McCartney kicked off the 90's here at Resorts World Arena before Heather Small and M People delivered our last show before the millennium!
Did you attend either of these shows? Did you attend BOTH? Let's hear from you!
Here's some of our top events...
McCartney, Madness, Wet, Wet, Wet and Simply Red all put on some big, big performances here in Birmingham!
