Throwback To The Script
With it being St. Patrick’s Day today, we thought we’d throw it back to when one of our favourite Irish bands took to the stage at Resorts World Arena. Join us as we look back on our night with The Script!
The Script have become firm favourites here in Birmingham as Danny and the boys ALWAYS deliver the biggest and best shows to the city. We just can’t get enough of them. Whenever The Script are in town we certainly know about. The fans are incredible, the atmosphere is electric and most importantly of all, the band’s performance is never nothing short of impeccable.
For obvious reasons, it’s now a while since the boys took to the Resorts World Arena stage but we’re really hoping that’ll change once we get the green light to start delivering events to you lot again!
Were you here with us the last time The Script arrived here in Brum? Ah, it was amazing wasn't it?!! Armed with an incredible support act in Becky Hill, the audience were treated to a show before the show. The hitmaker behind the likes of Gecko, Lose Control, Wish You Well and I Could Get Used To This perfectly teed us up for another brilliant night ahead.
With a large moon hovering high above the crowd, the Script jumped on stage and went straight into some big fan favourites including Something Unreal, Superheroes and Talk You Down. The boys then highlighted a poignant message which is as relevant now as it was back in February 2020 - "be kind to yourself" - before performing If You Don’t Love Yourself and Rain. The full setlist can be found at the bottom of this blog.
The electric atmosphere at no-point dipped with the energy from 16,000 Brummies being 100% from the off. The boys switched between new songs and old songs, keeping everything fresh and keeping us all guessing which hit they were going to deliver next.
Not only was the performance absolutely top notch, but the production was unforgettable. The moon hanging above the arena, the incredible B-Stage, the lighting, the sound, it was all all completely flawless. Ah, just thinking about those kind of things has got us REALLY missing these live shows!
The Script ended the show on two big hits, the sing-along favourite Breakeven and the huge For the First Time- and it really was the perfect way to wrap up the evening. We honestly cannot wait until we can welcome the boys back to Birmingham!
